The spoiler control system is used to supplement the ailerons to provide additional roll control at low speed, to act as speed brakes and provide braking and lift dumping on landing.

Each spoiler surface is controlled by one fly-by-wire actuator for the more electric aircraft this surface may be electro-mechanical.
